Kauai- A Photo Set
After we went to Maui, my family decided to spend some time on the island of Kauai. We have never been to this island before so everything we did was a brand new adventure. We did a lot of sightseeing and driving around the island. In comparison to all of the other islands we have been to before, this one is much more luscious and green. The islands really are a different world that even pictures can't do justice.
We arrived at our hotel and we were in for quite a shock. First, it was nothing like our hotel in Maui- very rural and secluded. Also, the doors in the living room open up for a 180 view of the island and the ocean.
We visited the Koloa Rum Company where they distill their own five brands of rum on the island. The new coconut rum has been in progress for 3 years and was just recently bottled.
The lady working at the company store noticed that my birthday had just passed and she was WAYYYYYY too excited. She gave me a free gift and then wanted to take a picture with me.
Waimea Canyon- the Grand Canyon of Hawaii
Having seen both the actual Grand Canyon and Waimea Canyon, I personally think that Waimea is more beautiful.
Hula Pie- the best dessert on the islands- devoured by our family in seconds
